. Look at 161 Avenue just north of Indian School Road. Wonderful homes and you will love the neighborhood.

I live in Goodyear for four years, and we have really enjoyed it. We are about to put our house up for sale… and it seems its still a buyers market here…

The infrastructure going into place is solid, and the local government is one of the best in the west valley.

Avoid El Mirage but all the others are great places to live. I suggest staying north of the I-10 freeway to. When you go south, you have a lot of warehouses, so you have a lot of Semi truck traffic, there's a waste water treatment plant that smells at times, and a dog food distribution center on 75th ave, and you can smell whenever they are loading those trucks up to! I know! I used to live in that area. Grand Ave that runs by Surprise and El Mirage has the train tracks that run parallel with the street, so keep that in mind to. Go out as far as Litchfield rd in Surprise. There's a lot of nice communities there, and really good deals right now. I agree with ystanback, Rancho Santa Fe in Litchfield is really nice, Palm Valley is right next to that to.

I am also looking for a house around that area. My realtor told me the best areas to invest (in these order): 1)Goodyear 2)Litchfield Park 3)Surprise. Pretty much anything North of I-10 freeway...so I was told.

I live in Avondale. My Dad actually retired here from the US Air Force, so I’ve grown up in this area. Schools are great, from kindergarten all the way up to High School. My sisters and I all have gone to Luke School which is on the base and Rancho Santa Fe Elementary, Western Sky Middle School, Agua Fria High School. I had great teachers growing up. The area is very well up kept. If your looking for areas in Avondale, I would suggest Rancho Santa Fe or Corte Sierra. These are all within Avondale with a great variety of stores, shops, and entertainment near. Good Luck!

Avondale is a great choice. From what I hear the schools are okay and the crime isn't as bad as most west valley cities.
